江苏大学生物质能源研究院博士后招聘

 

 

江苏大学生物质能源研究院 创建于2009年,是江苏大学重点建设的一所高起点、高定位、具有多学科交叉特色的新型环境与能源研究机构,经过多年的建设,研究所的科研设施齐全(先后投入1000多万元购置各类研究设备),是江苏大学确定的专职研究所和学术特区,2011年入选江苏省“创新团队”,2015年被授予江苏省新侨“创新创业”示范基地。目前,研究所建立了包括基因工程、酶工程、生物环保、生物反应器工程、能源植物改造、生物基材料等在内的十余个实验研究平台。研究所现有专职教师22人(包括外籍教授2人、博士生导师6人,硕士生导师12人),其中江苏省创新团队领军人才1人,江苏省“双创人才”2人、江苏省特聘教授1人,江苏省“六大人才高峰”2人,江苏省“双创博士”2人;教育部霍英东基金获得者1人,江苏省杰出青年基金获得者1人。研究所正承担10多项国家级省级科研项目与计划等重要课题。现研究所有硕士、博士研究生30多人(包括国际留学生8人),博士后10人(其中海外博士后5人)。目前,研究所学科挂靠环境与安全工程学院,学科方向为生物环保与农业资源利用(包括环境监测中的生物传感器、环境治理的生物制剂、农业生物质资源转化为生物能源与生物基材料),根据学科发展与项目研究需要,现面向国内外公开招聘博士后研究人员,博士后的学科交流站为环境科学与工程,具体指导教授的研究领域或方向如下:

一、研究方向
 

1. 纤维素/半纤维素基功能新材料

以自然界中广泛存在的生物质资源为原料,在功能仿生和结构仿生的设计思路指导下,以新型生物质精炼分级分离提取手段和先进的智能制造技术(3D打印)为依托,研发具有高附加值的纤维素和半纤维素基功能新材料,如环境新材料、生物医用新材料等。

2. 固体废弃物资源转化及高值化利用新技术

研究兴趣包括聚焦农业固体废弃物资源(农作物秸秆等生物质资源)的可再生利用,新型生物环保新材料与新技术。主要是通过自然生物系统的生物过程工程仿生手段,开发新型微生物资源或酶资源转化木质纤维素废弃物为各类高附加值产品;开发新型发酵仿生生物反应器处理固体/液体废弃物(厌氧或有氧)、环保生物制剂、多样化生物质能源产品及纤维素/木质素3D打印功能新材料。

 

3. 环境生物电催化

主要以微生物电子传递机制及创新应用为主线,以生物工程和环境工程技术为核心基础,生物电化学及纳米材料为特色,结合利用合成生物学,组学及生物纳米技术,瞄准并解决环境生物技术领域国际前沿重大关键科学问题。研究兴趣包括有毒难降解污染物生物处理、污染物/废弃物定向资源转化、一碳生物化工(CO2、合成气及甲烷的高值转化)、智能微生物传感器等。

 

4. 能源植物培育及利用

生物质高效生物预处理技术;微生物与植物互作治理土壤或水体中有机污染物及重金属污染物;木质纤维素类草本能源植物的分子遗传改良(生物质产量、生物质可降解性、抗非生物逆境胁迫等)。

5. 环境微生物工程

创新性地利用环境微生物所具有的独特得新陈代谢路径,结合微生物工程和环境工程技术为日益严峻的重大环境问题提供创新高效解决方案,包括生物可再生能源和材料;新型生物污水处理技术;微生物矿化环境岩土工程;微生物电化学及应用和微生物膜及应用。

二、博士后招收条件
1. 全职博士后,已获得博士学位或即将获得博士学位,并以第一作者发表过SCI论文,年龄在35岁以下。
2. 环境工程、分子生物学、酶工程、材料科学与工程、植物学、生物过程工程等相关专业背景均可,具有良好的中英文写作和交流能力。
3. 吃苦耐劳,踏实认真,责任心强,具有良好的学术道德和严谨的科学态度,身心健康。
4. 具有良好沟通能力和独立开展科研工作能力,有团队合作精神。
三、岗位职责
1. 协助合作导师申请及完成科研项目。
2. 协助或较独立指导本科生或研究生。

3. 助申报和参与重点科研项目、参与实验室管理等相关工作。
四、工作条件及待遇

Postdoctoral Positions at Biofuels Institute of Jiangsu University Available for Application

Overview

Biofuels Institute of Jiangsu University, which was built in 2009 as the unique academic district of Jiangsu University, is a multi-disciplinary research agency with the scope of providing up-to-date and revolutionary technologies for cost effective and competitive biofuels and biomaterials production. It has become one of key center of intellectual talent and innovation with for biomass-based fuels, chemicals, and materials research and production. Currently, there are ten professional laboratories with different functions have been established and equipped with advanced instruments/devices (worth over ten million CYN) in the institute, which mainly include laboratories for gene engineering, enzyme engineering, bio-environmental protection technology, bioprocess and bioreactor engineering, energy crops, biomass-based functional materials and so on. At present, we have 22 faculties and staffs, including 6 full professors, 6 Ph.D. supervisors, and 12 master's supervisors. Among them, one winner of Fok Ying Tung Education Foundation (Ministry of Education), two distinguished professors of Jiangsu Province, 4 faculties recognized and supported by Jiangsu Provincial Government (including innovational and enterprising talents program, 333 project, and six-talent-peak program). We also have one innovation team and one Jiangsu Overseas Chinese Base for innovation and Entrepreneurship recognized by Jiangsu local government. There are more than 30 master students, Ph.D. students (including 8 international students), and 10 postdoctoral fellows (5 international postdoctoral researcher).

Our institute is affiliated with the School of Environment and safety Engineering of Jiangsu University with the discipline of biomass conversion and utilization. Currently, we are recruiting talented Postdoctoral Fellows in a variety of disciplines with a strong interest in the research of biomass-based fuels, chemicals, and materials. Research areas and interests

  1.  Lignocellulosic Biomass Recycling, Reusing and Recovery

(1). Develop advanced technologies for biomass conversion and utilization, particularly with the biological conversion pathway, aiming to develop the relevant technologies for lignocellulose biomass recycling, reusing and recovering.

(2). Reveal and Mimic highly efficient natural lignocellulolytic systems (e.g. wood-feeding termites or other cellulose-feeding animals) to advance current bioreactors for biofuels and bioproducts.

(3). Develop dedicated bioenergy crops and the associated technologies for biofuel industries, primarily focus on cell wall modification as well as the foreign lignocellulase gene clone and expression in plant.

(4). Develop the advanced technologies for biomass-based plastics and other bio-products, including 3D printing of biomass, such as cellulose/hemicellulose or lignin components/composites for high value added products.

 

 

 

  1. eBiorefinery, iMicrobe, and Biosensors

(1). Electron based biorefinery—eBiorefinery: To Power and Feed the World with Waste! (Microbial fuel cell (extracellular electron transfer mechanism; nanostructured electrode; electrochemical active biofilm); Microbial electrosynthesis (CO2 capture & transformation); Microbial synthesis of functional nanomaterials).

(2). Intelligent Microbiology—iMicrobe: To Delight and Reprogram the Life with Microbe! (Intelligent microbe & microbial intelligence).
(3). Biosensors (Whole cell biosensors for high-throughput, high sensitive, high selective detection/quantification of pollutants & toxins).

 

  1. Energy crops

(1). Biological pretreatment techniques for biomass in energy/forage crops.

(2). Interaction between microbes and plants to control organic pollutants or heavy metal pollutants in soil or water.

(3). Molecular improvement of lignocellulosic energy grasses for biomass yield, biomass degradability, or tolerance to abiotic stresses, etc.

2. ​Biomineralization and Low-energy biofilm wastewater treatment

Biosensor, biocorrosion and bioleaching, Biofilm reactor and biofouling.

 

​3. Biomass-based functional materials

(1). Biomass-based functional biocomposites (films, hydrogels, and aerogels) for potential application of removal environmental pollutants, e.g. heavy metal ions, oil spilling, antibiotics, etc.;
(2). Development of biomass-based materials as 3D printing feedstocks for potential application in different areas, e.g. biomedicine, pharmacy.

 

Qualifications and application

  1. The candidate is expected to have recently achieved a Ph.D. on environmental engineering, biochemistry/biotechnology, enzyme engineering, material engineering, botany or related fields with a good publication record.

  2. The applicant should have excellent communication skills in English language, both written and spoken. The candidate should be highly motivated for performing scientific research and should have developed problem solving skills and the ability to work and thrive in multidisciplinary groups.

  3. The applicants are supposed to email the corresponding professors the by providing the required materials. The host professors will assist the applicants with the interview, examination and other procedures.

Salaries and Benefits

  1. The basic salaries for foreign postdoctoral researchers are constituted according to Times Higher Education World University Rankings.

  1. Foreign postdoctoral researchers are encouraged to for apply various research founding and scholarship. Application for international meetings and exchanges are also encouraged.
